Price calculator for insect screens

Insect screens have dozens of options: mesh type, profile color, crossbar, corners, handles, fastenings. Configo prices every combination from your materials and lists the parts for production.

Demo with sample prices. Yours will use your own materials and formulas.

How this calculator is built

The calculator above is a real Configo configurator, not a mockup. Yours is built in the same four steps.

01

Materials

Mesh, frame profiles and mounting clips are entered once: purchase and sale price, waste percentage and a unit. Mesh and profile are groups, so each becomes a picker.

02

Controls

Width, height, mesh and frame profile. Limits keep the size within what you can make.

03

Formulas

Mesh = area in m², profile = perimeter in metres. Clips: 4, or 6 when the frame is taller than 1200 mm.

04

Result

The customer price and your internal cost update on every change, and the product name is composed from the choices. Add a fixed labor cost and Configo does the rest.

Example: frame insect screen

This is how one real insect screen calculator is built. Prices are left out; the structure is what matters.

What Configo calculates

  • Mesh: width × height in m², plus waste percent

  • Profile: perimeter minus the offset of the chosen fastening

  • Fixing cord: perimeter plus a fixed allowance

  • Crossbar and mounts: added only when a crossbar is chosen

  • Corners, handles, fasteners, screws: fixed counts for each screen

  • Labor: a fixed amount per screen

What the insect screen calculator handles

Built from real calculators for frame and pleated screens.

Mesh and color as options

Standard, anti-cat, anti-midge and other mesh types and profile colors are materials, each with its own price.

Parts from the size

Profile length, fixing cord, crossbar and corners follow from width and height, with the offsets your design uses.

Waste per material

Each material carries its own waste percent, so mesh and profile offcuts are priced in rather than forgotten.

Rules that warn

Add conditions, such as a crossbar for tall screens or metal corners for a colored profile, so a customer cannot order something you cannot build.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I offer different mesh types and colors?

Yes. Each mesh type and color is a material or an option with its own price, and the customer picks them in the calculator.

Can the calculator refuse impossible combinations?

Yes. Use conditions: for example, require a crossbar above a certain height or metal corners for a colored profile.

Does it work for frame and pleated screens at once?

Create one calculator per product type, or one with a type selection. Frame and pleated screens have different parts, so most workshops keep them separate.

Can dealers see their own prices?

Yes. Every material stores purchase, retail and dealer prices, so the same calculator can show dealers their price list.
