How Configo Works

Create your own product configurator — no code, no spreadsheets.

Step 1: Add Materials

Materials are the building blocks of your product: wood, paint, or anything else you use. Each material has:

  • Name and Group
  • Description
  • Purchase and Sale price
  • Waste percentage
  • Unit of measurement
23/255
7/255
57/512
%
8/64

Step 2: Add Controls

Controls are the input fields your users will fill in — size, color, options. Each control has:

  • Label and variable name (starts with $)
  • Field type: number, text, select...
  • Advanced options: min, max, step, default values
  • Dynamic options from materials, YAML, or JSON

Step 3: Add Calculation Rules

Use formulas to define how much of each material is needed.

Each material (or group) can have multiple formulas. Each formula includes:

  • Conditions (e.g. $width greater 100)
  • Formulas (simple math or JavaScript)
  • Logical combinations: AND/OR
47/512

Step 4: Finalize Configurator

Once you’ve defined all controls and formulas, it’s time to wrap everything into a working configurator.

Give your configurator a meaningful name, define how the final product will be labeled, and specify additional values like labor cost, amortization, and the output unit.

These values are used to calculate the final price — so even if your product is complex, Configo will handle the math for you. You stay in control of logic, branding, and cost structure.
